This Prestige Design & Build project delivered a comprehensive transformation of a family home in Guildford — combining a substantial rear extension with a full interior refurbishment and partial garage conversion.

The centrepiece is a 30m² rear extension spanning the full 10-metre width of the property. Structural steel beams were installed to open up the entire rear elevation, creating a generous open-plan kitchen and living space beneath a traditional pitched roof. Concrete tiles were carefully matched to the existing dwelling, ensuring the new build reads as a natural continuation of the original home rather than an obvious addition. The extension features large bi-fold doors that connect the interior with the garden, flooding the space with natural light.

Alongside the extension, Prestige carried out a full house refurbishment — including electrical and plumbing upgrades, a new bathroom, new flooring throughout, internal carpentry, and a complete redecoration. The homeowner’s own kitchen was installed by the Prestige team with full service connections integrated seamlessly.

A partial garage conversion completed the scope, adding further usable living space while retaining the property’s street-facing appearance. Structural alterations, insulation upgrades, and full integration of heating and electrics brought the converted space up to current Building Regulations standards.

The result is a home that feels entirely reimagined — more space, more light, and a layout designed around modern family life — all delivered under a single Prestige contract with full project management from start to finish.
