Chinthurst Park, Merrow

This Prestige Design & Build project delivered a bold architectural transformation: a large rear extension with a striking contemporary finish, paired with a complete internal refurbishment across the entire property.

The standout element is the rear extension clad in black timber , deliberately chosen to contrast with the existing house and give the new build a modern, architectural identity. Structural steel was installed to open up the full rear elevation, creating a generous open-plan living space with seamless flow between the kitchen, living area, and garden. The extension features an impressive array of glazing — including a feature gable window , an oriel glass detail , and an up-and-over structural glazing element — all designed to maximise natural light and frame views of the surrounding landscape.

Inside, a new kitchen was installed as the centrepiece of the extended space, connecting the old and new parts of the home. Both bathrooms were fully renovated with new suites, waterproofing, tiling, and updated plumbing. A full internal refurbishment brought the rest of the house up to the same standard — including rewiring, new flooring, plastering, carpentry, and a complete redecoration throughout.

The result is a property that feels entirely new — a confident, contemporary home where the architecture of the extension sets the tone and the interior refurbishment ensures everything behind the front door matches.
